The splendid Iceland New Year Road Trip commences with the arrival at Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. Take the bus to reach the hotel and then gather in the hotel lobby to meet the rest of the group members and get introduced to the tour leader. The tour rep will brief you about the road trip and share all the essential details. Freshen up at the hotel, and set out on an excursion of the town. Visit the Hallgrimskirkja Church that stands at the height of 74.5m and then take a walk downtown harbor to check out the Sun Voyager sculpture next to Saebraut Road. Spend the night at a hotel and sleep off the jet lag with sound rest.

Set out on the day’s tours after breakfast. Feast your eyes on the countryside scenery of west Iceland while driving along the picturesque West Coast. Marvel at the stunningly beautiful alpine landscapes of the western region of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Stop at Arnarstapi, the quaint fishing village. Take a stroll in the charming town and then proceed to explore the Vatnshellir Cave at Snaefellsnes National Park. Take a lunch break at the picturesque village, Hellnar, and then stop to admire the black pebble beach of Djupalonssandur. Call it a day after the drive to the scenic Kirkjufell Mountain.

Marvel at the powerful hot springs at Deildartunguhver and then take a relaxing soak in the hot water bath at Krauma Geothermal Baths. Pet the cute Icelandic horses at the horse farm that falls on the way to the Baths. Go for another bathing session in the hot spring of Snorralaug at Reykholt. Continue with the journey until you reach the thunderous Waterfalls of Barnafoss and Hraunfossar. Admire the dramatic landscapes around the cascades, and then cap the day with a trip to Gerduberg, to take a look at the basalt columns. If the weather is favorable in the evening, then a Northern Lights hunting tours can be arranged.

Begin the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then set out on the Golden Circle Tour. Start with a trip to Thingvellir National Park to admire the unique scenery of the rift valleys. Continue with the journey with the trip to Haukadalur Valley, followed by a visit to the spectacular active geyser, Strokkur. Stop at the Gullfoss Waterfall next to admire the thundering cascade and the adjoining landscapes. Drive on along the Ring Road and keep your eyes open to catch a glimpse of the opening Hekla Volcano on the way to the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Marvel at the Skogafoss Waterfall, too, before driving on to Reynisfjara to witness the massive waves of the Atlantic. Peeking over the shore to one side are the magnificent Reynisdrangar basalt peaks. Finish the day off with a hunt for the Northern Lights and continue to our hotel close to a small coastal town, Vik.

Embark on the most exciting glacier adventures after breakfast at the hotel. Put on your warmest clothes before setting out to explore the mysterious ice cave at Vatnajokull Glacier and then proceed to marvel at the glittering Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Keep the safety guidelines in mind before entering the freezing ice cave. Go hiking in the cave and take the most mesmerizing photographs of the brilliant blue cave. Watch out for the chunks of icebergs in the Lagoon and take photos of the seals sunning at the black sand beach. Keep your eye out for glimpses of the Aurora Borealis lights in the sky.

Have the most adventurous hike of your life at the outlet glacier tongues of the Vatnajokull Glacier, which is the largest glacier of Europe. Strap on the advanced glacier hiking equipment before embarking on the hike at the glacial wonderland. Travel through the south shore back to the city by the end of the day.

There are no activities planned for the day, so take your time and relax at the hotel. Give your muscles the much-needed rest after the strenuous hike and then take a stroll in downtown Reykjavik for some short excursions and shopping. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with an elaborate firework display in the night sky. Hit the snow-laden streets with the locals and shoot sparklers into the sky. Have fun with fellow group members around the roaring bonfire, and then join in the marvelous festivities of the day.

Set out on a tour of the sparkling Blue Lagoon after breakfast at the hotel. Relax at the geothermal spa with the group and take hordes of photos on the last day before making the final departure. It’s time to say goodbye to your fellow travelers and the guide as the tour ends today with a breakfast at the hotel. Hoping that you have captured the best moments on camera and packed in a host of travel memories to carry back home with you.

I'm a solo traveler, can I still join the tour?
Yes of course, As all our tours are for solo travelers. You will travel with like-minded and fun-loving people who like to explore new destinations and activities like yourself.
I want to join with my partner or friends; is it possible?
No condition for fun! You can always join the group tours with anyone by your side either your partner or a group of crazy friends. We make sure to arrange accommodation and all other activities accordingly. Do you want to know the lined-up list of tours; please check our tour finder section for more details.
I am travelling solo, do I have to pay single supplement?
No. All trip prices are based on double occupancy rooms. You will be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender to share the accommodation. If you enrolled with another person, you’ll room with that person. Although single supplement option is available if you prefer a room for yourself. If you are interested in a single room please select the single supplement package while booking.
What are the accommodation options?
We offer luxurious hotels, budgeted motels, spontaneous camps, handy lodges and every other possibility at your destination.
What is cancellation policy?
If you cancel your booking cancellation fees could apply. A cancellation will only be effective when we receive written confirmation of the cancellation. If you cancel a trip:
More than 60 days prior to departure you will receive a full refund less deposit amount
Between 45 to 60 days prior to departure we will retain the deposit or 50% of the amount paid (whichever is greater)
Less than 45 days prior to departure we receive the right to not refund any of the costs paid
Do I need a Travel Medical insurance?
Yes, Travel insurance is required for all international trips. Insurance covers (and reimburses you) for things like trip cancellation, trip interruption, and trip delay, lost or delayed baggage, medical coverage, medical evacuation, etc.
Truly one of the best trips I’ve ever had. It was my first time ever doing a solo trip. Himanshu gave us an itinerary and a list of good traveling tips for Egypt months in advance. He is very organized and responsive so I never had any concerns. Everything was already taken care of. All I had to do was show up. Had a great time in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Land in Salt Lake City & the rest of the trip is taken care by BLGT.. you have absolutely nothing to worry about.. logistics, campsite booking, tickets, planning is all done by them.
