Overview
Time to cruise the Gulf of California with a bucket list group, the Sea of Cortés or less commonly as the Vermilion Sea, is a marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean that separates the Baja California Peninsula from the Mexican mainland.
Join for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to snorkel and freedive with mobula rays and predatory pods of orcas on our 55 foot cruise boat – Westerly.
The Sea of Cortez is a unique and different destination with it’s own charm – and generally calm water, Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the aquarium of the world. Expect to see a lot of fish. A LOT of fish! Whale sharks in season. California sea lions. Giant manta rays at one particular site. A variety of shark species possibly including hammerheads (noting that the Sea of Cortez is nowhere near as sharkie as Socorro), several shipwrecks, garden eels and diving cormorant birds.
The highlight will be The Mobulas rays and Orcas. From mid-May to July, thousands of mobula rays aggregate in the deep south of the Sea of Cortez, and Nautilus Dive Adventures is excited to unveil a new expedition to witness the mobula migration.
This is the perfect trip for both divers and snorkelers.

Truly one of the best trips I’ve ever had. It was my first time ever doing a solo trip. Himanshu gave us an itinerary and a list of good traveling tips for Egypt months in advance. He is very organized and responsive so I never had any concerns. Everything was already taken care of. All I had to do was show up. The scenes in Egypt were breathtaking and I saw places that I never thought I’d see.

Had a great time in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Land in Salt Lake City & the rest of the trip is taken care by BLGT.. you have absolutely nothing to worry about.. logistics, campsite booking, tickets, planning is all done by them. We had a great guide with us through out the trip. Would definitely be going with BLGT in future.

Had a great experience through BLGT recently in Alaska; appreciated the trip leaders’ ability to handle logistics so you could focus on the experience and having fun. It was just like traveling with a group of friends, with the added bonus of the itinerary being all taken care of.
