Itinerary

Day01Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu

Description:
Your arrival here in Kathmandu marks the first day of the journey. Our representative from Nepal Hiking Team will be present at the airport to meet you, and will give you further information and explanation regarding the program. You will then be taken to the hotel where you shall stay overnight.

Day02Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m/2985ft) Duration: 6 hours

Description:
After breakfast, you shall be driven to Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal. The drive will present you with the opportunity to see the wonderful landscape of terraced farmlands- green and wet with the sowing of rice and barley by the farmers, the frisky rush of the meandering rivers by the highway and the isolated valleys low-lying among the gargantuan hills and rocky gorges. The journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes about 6 hours, and upon arrival at Pokhara, we shall check into a hotel, which the city has an abundance of. In the evening, you shall be able to enjoy the respite of a beautiful boat-ride at Fewa Lake and on a clear day, you can see the lucid reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Range on the crystalline surface of water. Overnight Hotel, breakfast in included.

Day03Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhe Dhunga (1495m/4905ft) Duration: 4 hours

Description:
After breakfast at around 07:30 m, you shall be driven to Nayapul (42km from Pokhara) for about an hour via the village of Lumle. From here, we shall take a short walk to Birethanti, a prosperous boom-town. The trail which we shall take follows the main street of Birethanti, going on through absolutely gorgeous bamboo forests and past large waterfalls glimmering with the ethereal light of the Sun, and swimming holes. Beyond this is the lush pasture bespeckled with foals and stallions mostly used for pulling wooden caravans and carts by people. The trail continues to Ranghai then, we shall climb gradually up the side of the valley, all the way to Tikhe Dhunga. Overnight at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day04Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani (2850m/9348ft) Duration: 7 hours

Description:
From Tikhe Dhunga on the fourth day, the trail requires us to cross a stream by a suspension bridge near a camp site. We shall then ascend upwards, climbing the steep stone steps (about 3300 of them!) to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080 meter. We shall climb the elevation from Ulleri, passing dense pasturelands and continue on for an hour until we reach the camp site where we shall stop and have a breather and water. Continuing on the trail, we shall cross two iridescent streams and have a final climb to Nangethanti where we shall stop for luncheon. “Thanti” in Nepali means “a rest house”, and during winter- the trail can be smothered in snow. From Nangethanti, we shall hike to Ghorepani with an elevation of 2850m, and be graced with a spectacular panoramic view of the exalted Mt. Dhaulagiri with the height of 8167m, the Tukuche Nilgiri with its height of 6940m, The Hiunchuli Himal with the elevation of 6441m and the Tarke Kang. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day05Hike to Poonhill (3180m/10430ft), Trek to Tadapani (2500m/8200ft) Duration: 6-7 hours

Description:
We shall get up before dawn and continue on the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek to Poonhill. From Poonhill, you can glimpse the utterly palatial view of the glorious Sunrise over the panoramic vistas of the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Mountains, resplendent and magnolias in splendor. After Poonhill, we shall return to Ghorepani, have a hearty breakfast and continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day06Tadapani to Chhomrong (2020m/6625ft) Duration: 5 hours

Description:

We shall descend down the precipitous trail leaving Tadapani; and continue through the riotous woodland and forest as we reach Gurung, the village of the Gurung people. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day07Chhomrong to Dovan (2600m/8528ft) Duration: 5 hours

Description:
The trail will continue to lead us to Chhomrong Khola, alacritous in its everlasting pursuit of joining the wide ocean, effervescent with the gleam of the Sun. We shall then climb to Khuldighar elevated at 2380m. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Check-post is situated here. The trail is a continuous descend to Dovan from there. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day08Dovan to Deurali (3200m/10500ft) Duration: 4 hours

Description:

Our continuation of the trail is adjacent to emerald and jaded bamboo forests; the sweet sound of bamboo leaves rustling in the wind provides aesthetics to the soul, and the zenith of blossoming Rhododendrons hail our journey to Deurali. We shall pass the Himalayan Hotel and trek on to Hinko (3020m), the trail lined with petrified trees and burnt sienna foliage. Deurali lies above the ridges of Hinko, and once we reach Deurali, we shall be accommodated into a guesthouse. The trail leading from Hinko to Deurali is the one which is most susceptible to avalanches, the terra firma a treacherous marshal of rickety soil and loam. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day9Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4210m/13810ft) Duration: 5 hours

Description:
We shall climb past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) (which really isn’t a Base Camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp. The Mountain and its surrounding areas are under protection by the Government of Nepal, hence, the Annapurna ‘Sanctuary Trek’. From the Machhapuchhre Base camp, we hike for two more hours to Annapurna Base Camp for an overnight halt. The imperial elegance of the snowy mountains, isolated and standing vigil for time eternal under the heavens shall greet us. The monumental mountains, towering above in astronomical proportions are a sight to behold. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day10Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m/7575ft) Duration: 7 hours

Description:

Descending the same trail which is like a boon companion to us by now at this point, we shall hike down to Modi Khola at Bamboo, the elevation dropping by 1700m. The area is flanked by some lodges and tea-houses, isolated among the vastness of the open mountain, greeted each morning by crisp cold air and the immensity of solitary desolation. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day11Bamboo to Jhinu Danda hot spring (1780m/5840ft) Duration: 6 hours

Description:
We shall hike the trail to Chhomrong, passing through Khuldighar where the people have established an experimental sheep farm, the journey paved with the abundance of our national flower, Rhododendrons, blooming in colors of red, white and pink, contrasting to the primary of glaucous green of the bamboo forests. From Chhomrong, the trail descends steeply to Jhinu Hot spring where you can respite in the naturally salubrious hot spring and have an interlude and rejuvenate yourselves. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day12Jhinu Danda to Pokhara (910m/2985ft) Duration: 5 hour walk

Description:
On this day, we shall depart from the Jhinu hot spring and excurse by the right bank of Modi Khola for 5 hours to Birethanti, enjoying the most relaxing and reposing walk of the entire trip, all gilded with the grace of the river birds fishing for prey and the solemn ambiguity of the flowing river under an azure sky. We shall then reach Nayapul, and after an hour’s drive, we will be back to Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel, breakfast and lunch included.

Day13 Pokhara to Kathmandu Duration: 6 hours

Description:
From Pokhara, we shall drive back to Kathmandu, the journey filled with the ever diverse landscape and changing topography. Overnight at Hotel, breakfast included.

  • Truly one of the best trips I’ve ever had. It was my first time ever doing a solo trip. Himanshu gave us an itinerary and a list of good traveling tips for Egypt months in advance. He is very organized and responsive so I never had any concerns. Everything was already taken care of. All I had to do was show up. The scenes in Egypt were breathtaking and I saw places that I never thought I’d see.

Just finished 7 day hike to Mont Blanc. What a trip!! Great combination of wonderful hike and gorgeous scenery!! We... met in Geneva and started hike from Les Houches, France and finished at Le Tour. Went through France, Italy and Swiss portions of Alps. We have seen and crossed Glaciers, Rocky mountains, lush green valleys and peaks!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous except one day it rained with pea size hail for about 7 minutes which made it more interesting. Spent nights in Refugio, hotels and hostels. Food was very good with varieties. I had Veal steak, Raclette, Scalopini, Chicken Cacciatore, Fondue. Phillipe, our Mont Blanc trekking guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about Alps including every peak, plants, trees. He was very intuitive of people's level and helped us pace so we all finished trekking safely. Couldn't have ask for a better guide. The trip was excellent and the price was even better 👌read more

Took the chasing slot canyons trip. The slot canyons were amazing and the guides were knowledgeable. The slot canyon... hikes were advanced and highly technical on two of the hikes. I’m an Intermediate hiker and was able to do 2 of the 4. It would have been helpful for the guides to have some safety equipment with them like ropes. Most of the hotels were good except the La Quinta in Las Vegas was a true one star hotel. All in all, a good trip. Great people on the trip also. I would travel with bucket list again but ask a lot more questions in the future.read more

Very good value for money. Bucket List Group Travel are a small operator but provide tours around the US & the World.... Himanshu gives a very personalised service ideal for small groups of solo travellers coming together to share experiences. He acted as guide and driver with a hire van.We did New Year in Las Vegas over 4 days with 3 Americans, staying at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. The itinerary included Helicopter ride over the strip, socialising to get to know the group, Little Church of the West, Strat Observation tower with rides, New Year celebrations and Casinos, drive to Red Rock Canyon for hiking, 7 Magic Mountains stone art, Shark Acquarium, Zipline over Fremont Street, drive to Death Valley for Zabriskie point, Furnace Creek, Badwater Creek salt planes, Artist Palet, Mosaic Creek, Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Star Gazing in Nevada, Gondola ride at Venetian Hotel, Indian dining.Very flexible and accommodating, great communicator before and during tour, and even on the departure day helped give airport taxi and accompanied to hotel exhibitions of Titanic, and the Human Body.Good degree of being part of the group whilst also sitting back allowing the group to interact and take photo opportunities while friendships were formed. Highly recommended.read more

Egypt trip 2019Truly one of the best trips I've ever had. It was my first time ever doing a solo trip. Himanshu gave... us an itinerary and a list of good traveling tips for Egypt months in advance. He is very organized and responsive so I never had any concerns. Everything was already taken care of. All I had to do was show up. The scenes in Egypt were breathtaking and I saw places that I never thought I'd see. I got to experience floating over the Valley of Kings in a hot air balloon! How many people can say they got to travel via plane, train, bus, hot air balloon, and boat all within one week?! Such an adventure! The people I met in our group were so cool and accommodating, all with their own unique backgrounds and stories. Dancing on the boat with them while sailing up the Nile River is one of my favorite memories. I now have new friends scattered all over the United States. The tour-guides were so friendly and patient despite the fact that our group kept scattering in different directions taking pictures. If you're looking for a fun, stress-free vacation where you get to move around, meet new fun people, and immerse yourself in new cultures, TripNTrek is for you. I'm definitely doing another trip.read more

Group adventure traveling done right!!! Amazing trip, amazing people, and with an amazing group leader!!! Our Iceland... Adventure trip was extremely well organized, and any unexpected minor challenges were immediately handled by our group leader. I wouldn't consider myself a "world traveler" so naturally I was a bit nervous about my first time traveling in a group like this, BUT I was super impressed with how it all came together each day during our trip. Our group leader was excellent. He always made sure everyone was included and communication was clear in each one of our adventure activities. It takes a special skill set to accommodate everyone's situation with understanding, patience and a great positive attitude - and our group leader did just that! Trip of a lifetime. I would absolutely recommend this travel company to friends and family, and I am already thinking about what my next trip will be!read more
